Seasons

Spring - Registration opens in January, team assignments are made in March, and practice gets underway as early as April 1st. The playing season runs from late April to June. Teams may practice one to two times per week in the pre-season. During the season, there are typically two games and possibly one practice per week.  We also offer metro baseball which gives players with the skills to play additional baseball at a higher more competitive level.  Metro teams begin at age 8 and these teams are typically formed in the fall of the previous season when a tryout is held.

Fall - The Fall Ball season begins in mid-August and runs through early October. Players are encouraged to register for Fall ball in the league that they will be playing in the spring to get accustomed to the rule changes.

Tournament / All Star - Tournament or All-Star baseball provides a higher level of competition during the summer months. Workouts for tournaments are held in June.  All registered Spring players are eligible to tryout.  Players must play in a minimum of 60% of their team's games to be eligible.  Teams are formed based on baseball age. Tournament season begins in late June and runs through the beginning of August.  Tournament teams are formed for ages 7 and older.  Each age year will have its own team (7U, 8U, 9U, etc.).  All Star teams in the age groups of 10U, 11U, and 12U will participate in the Little League Tournament.

Facilities

Our primary facility is Penglyn located behind the Pizza Hut on Rt. 30 in Irwin. We also use other fields in the township including Penns Woods, Westmoreland City, Tinkers Run, Hilltop, and our brand new field at New Hope Presbyterian Church. Additionally we use Norwin School Fields, Irwin Park and North Irwin Park.

Interleague Play

During the spring and fall season, NCAA partners with other local baseball associations as needed to provide inter-league play for our teams. In recent seasons, this has included Penn Township, Monroeville, East Allegheny, and Franklin Regional. While we primarily play against other NCAA teams this gives the players the chance to play a couple games at different fields and against different opponents.

*Little Bantam and Little Sluggers divisions do not participate in interleague play.  Typically this is done with our Pony division and older but will vary from year to year.  While we enjoy participating with these other groups often times we have too many teams to allow for easy scheduling of these games.

Divisions

Little Sluggers (age 4-5)
Little Bantam  (age 6)
Bantam (age 7-8)
Juniors (age 9-10)
Seniors (age 11-12)

***Note - Little Bantam and Little Sluggers may be merged in the Fall Seasons if there are not enough teams.
